From building and maintaining your own WordPress website, to designing your own business cards with Canva, there has never been a better time to try your hand at a bit of DIY design. For those of you just starting out in business, these tools can be a great way to get the ball rolling on your marketing, until you have the budget to hire a professional.
The downside of the DIY approach is that trying to wear so many hats can be exhausting and, at times, overwhelming. How do I know this? Because so many of you have been getting in touch to ask for help or advice with your projects.
I’d love to help everyone who gets in touch but there are only so many hours in the day and client work will always be my top priority. That said, I don’t want to leave the rest of you out in the cold.
So, I’ve come up with a solution.
I’m letting you pick my brain!
After about the billionth person reached out to me for advice on their DIY design project, I realised that introducing a new ‘Pick my brain’ service would be the easiest and most efficient way to give everyone the help they need.
Who is the service for?
If you’re struggling with any aspect of DIY design, I can help you out.
Maybe you need a quick tutorial on how to back up your WordPress site or how to add social media plugins. Perhaps you’re struggling to figure out how Canva works or you need some advice on using Photoshop. Or maybe you’re designing your own logo or business cards and you need some feedback from a professional — it’s amazing the difference a small tweak to the font or sizing can make to a design!
How does it work?
You have the option of booking a 15, 30 or 60 minute Skype consultation, depending on how much help you’re looking for. Let me know in advance what you’d like to discuss and I’ll make sure I’ve prepared everything I’ll need to answer your questions.
We can brainstorm ideas, I can walk you, step-by-step, through any techy stuff, and I’ll give you plenty of hints and tips I think will help improve the impact of your designs.
As small business owners, mastering new skills and having full control over our own branding is hugely empowering but it IS okay to ask for help when you need it. And let’s face it; your Mum is going to tell you she loves your DIY logo no matter what it looks like.
For honest feedback on your designs, or extra support to help you navigate your website, you can book your call here.
