Freelancers often find it hard to take time out from their business and I’m no different. With deadlines to meet, marketing and admin, and plenty of networking and meetings to secure a steady stream of projects, there’s always work to do. An occasional day off becomes a luxury and a whole week’s holiday merely a daydream, but with Christmas getting closer it’s time I took a holiday, so this is my last post of 2012.
This has been a busy and brilliant year. The business has grown and I’ve been working on some fantastic projects, so look out for some portfolio updates soon.
I’ve also been working on a couple of personal projects, including my new shop; if you’ve yet to buy Christmas cards and gift tags, why not stop by, and look out for more card designs arriving throughout 2013. If you prefer the DIY approach though, you can still download my gift tags freebie and make some yourself.
The blog has also been going well. I set myself a goal of posting once per week and although I haven’t quite managed that, it’s been pretty close. Some of the most popular posts this year have been:
- Design is a job
- Chasing unpaid invoices
- Why I don’t design logos for £50
- Where to find the perfect picture for your blog post
I’ve plenty more blog posts already planned for next year and if there are any topics you’d like me to write about just leave a comment or contact me via the website and I’ll do my best.
I’m now looking forward to a well earned break, and if it’s a while since you took time out, you should think about taking some time to relax too. I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas and New Year.
See you in 2013!
